Welcome to the Canadian Number Exchange! The Number Exchange 2016 is now closed!
Welcome to the Canadian Number Exchange!
What is this all about? The goal is to create a Number Exchange program where 30 different classrooms across Canada will help to create 1 number which will comprise a number display from 1-30. What do classrooms need to do to participate? Simply design and decorate the number that your class has been assigned in any shape, form, style or size of your students choosing. Please provide one copy/version of your assigned number so that each participating classroom will receive one of each number. Yes, that means that you have to create 30 copies of your number! Then decorate your number with pictures, stickers, or small items that represent that number. When completed you mail out 29 copies of your number to the other teachers involved in the exchange. Keep 1 copy for your own display. What grades can participate? All Kindergarten - grade 3 classes in Canada are eligible to participate. What to include with your number:
Once 30 classes have signed up numbers will be randomly assigned to each class. Once you get your address sheet and number assignment please be sure to double check that your address/information is correct. If there are any errors please email [email protected] right away so that a correction email can be issued. Numbers should be mailed by January 30th, 2015 and by the end of February everyone should have a full number set (1-30) for your classroom display. Frequently asked Questions: Do we have to pay for the postage to mail all of the letters? Yes, as a part of the program your class is responsible for the cost of mailing the letters. In some schools this cost is taken care of by the front office/school. In others you, as the classroom teacher, are required to pay for postage. Please take this into consideration when committing to this project. What size Numbers? Numbers should fit on one sheet of paper (no larger than a regular sheet of construction paper 9x12). Some classes will send “pinteresting” numbers that are very decorative and extravagant, though this is not mandatory, it is encouraged! Ultimately, classes and students are at different levels; use your own professional judgement when creating display numbers. To follow me on Pinterest please click here PLEASE!!!!!!! If you cannot commit to do your number for whatever reason, let me know ASAP so that I can find another participant to take your place! We do not want the little people to be disappointed! |
