READ ME before you sign up!In the past few years there have been a lot of learning opportunities for this exchange. If you are interested in participating in the Canadian Letter Exchange please read here BEFORE you sign up. I am on maternity leave this year and I do not have the time "chase" people down. Please read the steps and follow the directions fully or you will not be contacted. Please be respectful of my time - remember I do this for free, even though it takes about 80 hours to prepare each exchange.
Steps to take: 1. Fill in the form below and chose a letter. THE LETTER YOU CHOOSE MAY CHANGE. Things to note about the form - I do not make changes to what you fill in. Please ensure you have reviewed the form before hitting submit! Here are where people make the most mistakes - Use your full name (first and last) EG: Mrs. Julia de Vries - Use the FULL SCHOOL NAME EG: if you teach at Storytown Public School, please write "Story Time Public School" and not "Storytown" - Add a space in the middle of the postal code EG: M3M 3M3 - Personal Email Address Only! The exchange is being set up mostly in the summer and when you get an email you need to respond quickly (Most of the time with int 24 hours). The emails are often blocked by school accounts therefore NO SCHOOL ACCOUNTS WILL BE ACCEPTED - you will not get a confirmation email, and you will not be added to the exchange. 2. Once you have filled in your form completely and accurately, you will get a confirmation email. These are sent manually so please be patient. The goal will be to get confirmation emails out at least once a week, but with a new baby, that could be longer. If you are worried please email me at [email protected] and I can send you a quick "yes I got it" or "nope, sign up again". I will ask that you get back to me with in 24 hours confirming that your address and other information is correct. Please note that I will ask you to confirm your information several times. It is important that you look at it EACH TIME. We have had people who missed out on letters because something was wrong with the address and they didn't confirm it each step of the way. This email will also confirm your letter. Please note that you may not get the letter you asked for, wait for this email to ensure you are working on the right letter. 3. Once all 26 letters are spoken for and confirmed you will get the information package with all of the instructions and mailing addresses. You are responsible for paying postage to mail 25 letters, if you cannot commit to this, please do not go any further. If at any point during this exchange you can no longer participate or are struggling to get it done please let us know right away. We do not want to disappoint the little people. I would love to see this at a great activity to build some lasting relationships around the country for our kids. As the year progresses we might find some other ways to collaborate as a group using our facebook group. In the past some classes have set up skype dates. Since not everyone who participates is on facebook please make sure you direct your requests fort skype dates etc. via email. Please feel free to share this site with others! Happy Exchanging! I am looking forward to hearing from everyone! ***If you have any questions or if I have forgotten anything please contact me!*** Please check out our facebook group at http://www.facebook.com/groups/chickachickaexchange/ Sincerely, Julia |
